Concept videos of the H&M and Wallmart store in the «Metaverse» have just been bashed by Twitter once again. And completely justified. The videos are not as new than the feed would have you believe, they were surfaced again as part of the ongoing «Metaverse» hype for a quick bashing excitement – but it still holds true: the bad copy of an IRL experience is always an uninspired fail in the digital world.
Sven used to work on digital experiences and their navigation for clients of Jung von Matt in Hamburg, Andreas still does. Primarily based on BMW's Joytopia for IAA 2021, this talk will show pitfalls and solutions of navigating these worlds. And provide insight into what it furthermore takes to navigate the even more complex world of agency talent, service providers, artists and corporations, to get such projects on the road.
Sven is communication designer by training and helped from 2005 to 2011 to establish Jung von Matt's digital specialist agency "Next" in Hamburg. In the process, he experienced and shaped the digital transformation of communication and its channels first-hand. He currently builds a small consultancy in Zürich.
Andreas holds a BA in communication design and has been working at Jung von Matt in Hamburg since 2016. As Art Director, he is responsible for large campaigns and digital services for the automotive industry.
